A weekend summary

Firstly, I should tell you that I’m now going to be commenting on people’s blogs with Blogger. I’m a bit tired of people (not one specific person but I can think of at least 4) telling me I’m a “no reply” blogger, when I’m not, I just have an independently hosted blog and as such can only comment through OpenID with my Flickr account. My WordPress profile just doesn’t work anymore since the move to .com. Hopefully this will encourage more people to click on the “my website” link on my profile which takes you here. So there, sorted, lets move on.

Not everyone in this photo, but from L to R: Di, Liz A, Trudi, Jackie and Tanya

My little empire…

On Saturday it was the next meet up of the East Midlands Modern Quilt Guild. We met up at Stitchcraft in Grantham to make quilt as you go Weekender bags. Here’s how far I got with mine (oh and I’ve got piping made too)…

Di finished hers- see here!
If you fancy making a bag like this (this is Mandy’s finished one)…

Mandy's Weekender bag

Then Mandy will be teaching this at Stitchcraft as a workshop, I’m not exactly sure of the date as it’s such new news that it’s not on the Workshops page yet, Β so you might need to drop her a line, she’s on Twitter- @madewithlovebym.

On Sunday I got my act together and tidied up. So my fabric now looks like this. Seriously no room for any more!

I can’t get my precuts and big bits of fabric shelf any tidier though because I’m having to cram it full…

And Wallander is now two columns, yey!

Lastly, don’t forget the Quilt and Stitch Village show at Uttoxeter racecourse this weekend, my Fryed Pixels quilt will be there along with over 100 others (so I hear) so it should be a good day out! I will be there on the Sunday πŸ™‚

Hi Kerry! Must be fun to sew with friends! I’m also so tired about the no-reply thing and don’t care anymore. I think most people should know about this now because it has been so much under discussion. If someone is now-reply, I can find their blog and leave a comment – it’s also nice to visit back. x Teje

Glad I will be able to reply, obviously I know where to find you but it makes it so much easier to hit reply! πŸ˜‰

Sometimes I have trouble with following back from a comment on my phone (which I use a lot for blog reading and replying – like now!) whereas an email reply from a non-no-comment is totally doable. So I’m pleased I’ll always be able to reply to you on-the-spot and not have to remember to get the tower booted up!

Your Weekender is so my colours! But it’s Wallander that I’m totally in love with.

Yeah. I hate how Google manipulates the blogosphere with their commenting tactics. I can’t have a wordpress and google login active at the same time. If I try to comment a blogger blog with a wordpress ID when logged in Google, it just won’t allow me to do it. For me this is a problem because I want to comment blogs related to my blog with my blogging ID and other blogs with my personal ID. Actually I have noticed that in last couple of weeks, I haven’t been able to comment on blogger blogs with my wordpress ID even if I’m NOT logged in Google. Seriously starting to hate the big G.

I love your weekender progress and I loved Di’s and Mandy’s is lovely. My weekender went to Texas and back (returning as checked baggage as it was stuffed to the gills) and it was just fine. I get comments sent to me as emails and I reply via email. I have such trouble balancing my computer time with the rest of my life, including quilting, that I seldom even check to see if the reply is going to a no reply person (so into the ozone). I will watch for your comments and see what happens, as I am sure I have your email too.
