Photos from the British Quilt and Stitch Village show

I must be honest and say that not many things caught my eye this year, so I really do hope more people enter next year, even if that does mean more competition for me!¬†The show is only three years old so it’s a shame that there are less quilts this time round. Still as usual, […]

Quilt and Stitch Village show starts friday!

Are you going to the Quilt and Stitch Village Show at Uttoxeter racecourse this weekend? I’m going on Sunday afternoon wearing my reporter hat (note: metaphorical hat) and I’m going to meet up with a couple of people there. If anyone else is around that day I’d love to meet up ūüôā If you’re going […]

Behold – the Junk in the Trunk dress!

I did it, oh yeah,¬†just in the nick of time! Here is the Junk in the Trunk dress for the 3D category at the Quilt and Stitch Village show in all it’s crazy glory. The competition rules dictated that entries must be three layers and it didn’t say that this was with exception to this […]

A finish: Pancakes quilt

If you think I’ve not been posting much lately, it’s because I’ve been busy! I took Friday off work to give some serious hours this weekend to my two simultaneous quilt projects going on and I finished one of them! This is Pancakes (though you’ve possibly seen me overgram the stages on Instagram)…! I am […]

The beginnings of a dress…

Patchwork pieces- blurry pictures- check… Patch pockets, check… My dress is (almost) ready for quilting! I’ve got lining fabric coming imminently- it’s fuchsia pink, I thought it might be nice to have something a bit zingy as this dress is hardly going to be shy!

Quilt top finished

The top for Pancakes is all pieced, ready for basting this weekend… Wait a minute… My progress for Quilt and Stitch Village is going pretty well, I’ve also got a dress in process too, I’ll show you that tomorrow.

Already wishing for the weekend (and a Hank update)

Hank turns¬†one on Saturday, he’s now on grown-up food and we’ve released him from his “bedroom” pen and let him have the run of the conservatory. Time will tell if this is a terrible idea or not. The time has definitely flown this past 10 months, looking back at photos he was super tiny cute. […]

Gigglish Allsorts

This post has absolutely nothing to do with the kids TV programme from the 90s. A bit of housekeeping. There’s three projects on the list to complete before Christmas and as of last night, that list is now two. I finished off this Sew Together bag so now I have two for gifting. My remaining […]

Something fishy!

In less than a week I made this fish bowl mini quilt- it’s 26″ square and uses the reverse applique/portholes/ faced edges technique of applique. Here’s the back… it’s improv with a piece of Munki Munki Heather Ross as the starting point. Some of these fabrics were from my stash, others were from other people […]

Fabriholic fail- and photos from the quilt show

Well technically the fabriholic part won, and this month was a fail for the fast. To start with I needed Kona block for the Bowie quilt to finish the applique. I decided this was an OK purchase because it was essential for finishing and solids are¬†not that exciting bought on their own. But then Sunday¬†happened […]
