Well that’s my “Lovely Year of Finishes” project out of the way! I finished up the cushion for my MIL and although it’s a bit wonky (I didn’t unpick that seam and it wasn’t very square) I think she’ll like it. So here are the obligatory photos…

I’ve been quite lazy. Starting a new job and the extra hours I’ve lost in my day due to car sharing and coming home late has eaten dramatically into my evening which has made me too tired for any sewing time as I’m not getting home until almost two hours later than I used to [...]
I started the week ill and today I was off work. So whilst I was on the sofa watching a film, trying not to move too much because I felt so weak and my brain was doing funny things, I stitched the skinny binding onto my Rain Deer Limbo quilt. Ta da! You may remember [...]
Friday evening saw me finish up the Fryed Pixels quilt! It was washed and dried Saturday and apart from having to do a bit of hand stitching here and there to tidy it up and adding the sleeve on the back, it is what I call, finished. It looks better from a distance (not because [...]

OK so I have scheduled in a sneaky post so my blog isn’t quiet for too long! I made these the night before I went away, as you do. The pouch is for the Triple Zip along which I learned about from Hadley, so I got that in and entered for the prizes. I found [...]

It’s finished and out of the wash! Front: Back (a vintage sheet with horses on that I found in a tiny shop in Brick Lane, East London- I thought the colours worked well even if it was a strange subject choice!): Close-ups: I’ve called it Waiting Waxwings, because on two occasions I had to wait [...]

Your eyes do not deceive you. I have indeed finished the curtains at long last! I can sew at night in privacy now. Lovely!
October 10, 2012 – 10:31 am
I’ve spent the last three days working on this cushion, sometimes paper piecing triangular sections for hours. I actually sewed and listened all the way through from Chris Evan’s Breakfast Show to the end of Steve Wright in the Afternoon on Monday whilst OH was sleeping as he’d just finished a night shift at 7am. Ken [...]
